The plot is getting interesting. There's rooster family internal conflict here. A good demon suddenly became a bad demon. Like, what's going on? Those events are explained in this episode!

Episode Context

Coming off 'Crowing over a Feather,' which pushed Keiji's resolve to its limits, this episode pivots toward the personal bonds at the heart of the series, specifically the relationship between Keiji and Morio. It represents a clear emotional escalation before the story broadens again in the follow-up episode 'Gone to the Birds,' which shifts focus toward larger-scale threats. Episode 8 functions as a meaningful character checkpoint mid-season, grounding the larger conflict in something intimate before the stakes widen.
