the voice acting this episode was incredibly good. seeing all the family drama unfold makes me feel so bad for keiji. if my dad abandoned me just to go start a whole new family, i would absolutely despise him too.

this episode serves primarily as narrative exposition, expanding on keiji's lineage and the overarching mystery surrounding the devils. while it is essentially just build-up, the execution is solid and the cliffhanger effectively ensures viewer retention.

i cannot believe we are getting deep generational family trauma between actual chickens rn. the dad being a deadbeat like whats newww lol and that cliffhanger at the end has me so anxious to find out what the deal is with the devils next week

Elizabeth is such a cool addition to the group because she actually has a brain, plus that tactical harness she wears looks awesome against her black feathers

I felt so bad for Keiji when that flashback showed his mother freezing in the snow while Oujou was just gone and now his cold attitude makes total sense

Oujou getting captured by a guy with a Gatling gun arm was actually brutal and it really set the stakes for Keisuke finding his brother

That news report showing Morio destroying the city was devastating and it sucks knowing he is just a brainwashed puppet for those weird human villains now

Watching the flashback where the mother bird froze to death in the snow while Oujou was just gone really explains why Keiji is such a jerk to everyone he meets

I hated seeing Keiji just blast his own brother like that after everything Keisuke went through to find him and his Shinpagen move looked brutal on screen
