My heart actually stopped when those red eyes popped out of the coffin and I thought this show was finally turning into a real horror movie but then it was just tiny vampire Koguma-chan growling at them

Episode Context

Coming off Episode 4's summer festival, where Kaoru wrestles with her own indecisiveness, this episode continues her subtle character development by placing her in a situation that calls for empathy and emotional guidance. The supernatural framing feels like a natural extension of the season's gentle introspective thread rather than a tonal departure. It also directly primes Episode 6, where Kaoru's anxieties lead her toward a psychic, signaling a growing pattern of her seeking or offering meaning in uncertain situations.
