A masterclass in dark fantasy tragedy is what you can feel in the episode. The visual graphics push boundary limits with towering, fluidly animated mass-flesh golems and blinding, continuous magical explosions that illuminate a massive underground colosseum.
They used another flashback here because of everything that went down, and it finally explains why that one character turned bad. Even though the pacing shifts between fast and slow, it feels rewarding if you actually care about good character writing.
After some labyrinth scenes, we get to learn more about Ophelia's past. Definitely a little sad but not the way I expected it to go. And with only one episode to go, I don't know how they're going to fit in the conclusion for Ophelia and Oliver's story. Might be another case of rushing with the way things are going.
