Episode Context

Sitting at episode 45 of 161, this installment falls squarely in the show's pattern of introducing colorful new rivals and romantic complications to keep the ensemble fresh. It follows the comedic hijinks of 'Rub-a-Dub-Dub! There's a Pervert in the Tub' and precedes 'The Witch Who Loved Me: A Japanese Ghost Story,' signaling the series' continued rotation between romantic farce and supernatural-tinged comedy. Tsubasa Kurenai's debut here adds another recurring wrinkle to Ukyo's storyline and Ranma's ever-growing circle of challengers.
