Episode Context

Coming off episode 14's playful exploration of Ranma and Akane's relationship through fortune-telling antics, episode 15 dramatically shifts gears by introducing Shampoo, a character who will become a permanent fixture in the series' love polygon. This is an early-series pivot point at episode 15 of 161, adding a third major romantic rival and directly setting up 'Shampoo's Revenge! The Shiatsu Technique That Steals Heart and Soul,' where her pursuit of Ranma intensifies with dangerous martial arts techniques.
