📖 SYNOPSIS
Running the family antique shop keeps Wu Xie busy, though not exactly thrilled—until he gets his hands on a rubbing of an ancient silk book. Turns out the text connects to something his grandfather stumbled into fifty years ago, a place so dangerous it nearly wiped out the entire Wu family. Instead of doing the sensible thing and leaving it alone, Wu Xie tracks down his third uncle Wu Sanxing and assembles a ragtag crew—Menyouping, Pan Zi, Da Kui—to head straight into the ruins of the Palace of the Seven Stars. This ONA, adapted from the novel, leans hard into that tomb-exploration tension where every corridor could hide something ancient and very much not dead. The atmosphere does a lot of heavy lifting here. Dark passageways, cryptic inscriptions, and a creeping sense that the palace doesn't want visitors. The team dynamics keep things grounded—these aren't invincible heroes, just people with different skills trying not to get killed by whatever's down there. If you liked The Lost Tomb or Tomb of the Sea, this is mining the same vein of Chinese adventure fiction, with its own take on the mythology. Fans of The Longest Day in Chang'an might also appreciate how it weaves historical detail into a suspenseful narrative. The mystery unfolds slowly, and the supernatural elements stay just unsettling enough to keep you watching through the next episode. Worth your time if you're into atmospheric, puzzle-box storytelling.
