1. Plot and Narrative Structure : Cohesion, Does the plot make logical sense? Mostly yes but they didn't reveal why specifically the red butterfly triggered the girl's transformation and how did Maria know about that. Are there plot holes? The show's been cancelled so yeah that left many questions unanswered. Pacing, Does it drag? No it pretty much upto peace Does it rush? Most of time yes also because it has a runtime of 4min per episode. Does it respect your time? Because the show got cancelled and we are left with questions only so I'd say no it doesn't respect our time. Mystery/Payoff, Are clues planted early? In this particular section the story has been written carefully so yes mystery elements are there. (Most importantly the question "How did it happen in the first place?" Is the reveal earned? Show got cancelled so it didn't reveal the origin story completely. Stakes, Do actions have real consequences? Interesting one, the only consequence is all these act (becoming a monster, feeding on her brother) has left the girl in a guilty pleasure state. Is death permanent? Other than the main character....yes Rating: 4/10 2. Characters & Development: Depth, Do characters have clear motivations? Yes, the codependency was real and twisted Do they change? No but they didn't need to. Realism, Do they act like real people under pressure? the girl acted like any other girl whose brother is being tortured. Dialogue, "Is the writing sharp, or is it melodramatic garbage?" Moderate but layered. Supporting Cast, Are side characters fleshed out or just meat puppets? The support casts didn't established properly. Maria could be their ACE in the hole. Rating: 3.5/10 (only because of the twisted bonding) 3. Animation & Visual Direction: Art Style, "Does the aesthetic serve the tone? (e.g., Devilman Crybaby's raw, ugly style fits its brutality)" Animation was bad, low budgeted, also the black screen sometimes ruined everything. But the simplicity of the animation was good. It sets up a very depressing atmosphere. Choreography, "Is the action fluid and meaningful, or stiff and boring?" Action was rushed, so bad, no detail and black screen Cinematography, Are camera angles and framing used to build tension? Nothing out of the ordinary. Consistency, Does the animation quality drop? Yes very drastically and very often. Rating: 3/10 (Just for setting up the mood) 4. Sound Design and Music: OST, Does the music enhance the mood? Is it memorable? Actually the opening was good although nothing memorable. Other than that there's nothing. Voice Acting, Does the performance sell the emotion? Voice actors were good they did their work properly. Specially the Guy's voice actor when he's being tortured. Sound Effects, Are the soundscapes immersive? Average overall. The flesh eating and slashing killing sounds convenient but could've been better. Rating: 4.5/10 5. Themes & Philosophical Depth Core Idea, "What is the show really about? (e.g., trauma, identity, human nature)" I think it's about Bio-Terror, gore and very little bit of science fiction. Also about animalistic nature, co dependency and forbidden desire. Execution, Does it explore the theme with nuance or just preach at you? Yes it did go that far and also layered. So yeah it was kinda interesting to watch. Specially the metaphor behind the brother sister intimate relationship Relevance, Does the theme resonate with real-world human struggle? If we're talking about Brother sister relationship then yes it does Ambiguity, "Does it leave room for interpretation, or spoon-feed you answers?" Yes the show did leave room for interpretation and doesn't spoonfed everything. There are mystery elements as well and was written good. Rating: 6.5/10 6. Emotional Impact & Lasting Power : Gut Punch, Did it make you feel something real? Sometimes it kinda disturbing to watch but it was a guilty pleasure. Aftermath, Did it stick with you for days? Not so much. Did you dream about it? If I do then I'll be having nightfall. Rewatchability, Would you ever watch it again? No just one time watching Rating: 2/10 (There are some emotional elements which didn't established well enough)
