Princess Burst!

I went into this expecting the usual stuff, but the whole orphanage background for Yuki actually got to me. It makes the matches feel like they have real stakes beyond just the fanservice. King is a total villain for taking advantage of her situation like that, and I am curious to see if she can ever beat him in a rematch. The animation isn't anything special, but the story kept me watching.

You come for the scenes but the story about Yuki being an orphan actually makes you care about what happens to her in the ring

The animation is just okay but Yuki looks really good when she is fighting and her feisty personality makes the story better than most of these shows

King is such a jerk for making Yuki do those things after she lost and it really makes you want to see her actually win a match for once

I actually felt bad for Yuki because she is only doing all this crazy underground wrestling to save her orphanage and it makes the losing scenes feel way more intense

starting with yuki winning all those matches at the start and thinking she is the best only to have king show up and completely break her confidence was a smart move because it sets up the power dynamic immediately and the art style is very clean for this kind of adaptation which makes the ending of the episode feel way more intense

the way king just completely dominates the scene when he walks in makes yuki look so small and that contrast was done perfectly

i played the game so seeing yuki finally animated was huge, and even though some scenes felt short they really nailed the atmosphere of that underground ring

they cut out way too much of the setup from the game and the transition from the fight to king scouting her felt way too fast

you can really tell they put the budget into the character designs because yuki looks amazing and the encounter in the locker room was wild

yuki thinking she was just going to another match only to get trapped by king was a great way to start the story, and the art looks way better than i expected

king showing up in the underground arena really changes the whole vibe and seeing yuki realize she is in over her head was a great hook

i thought the color palette shifting when yuki started losing her cool against king made the tension feel way more real

the animation is kind of stiff during the actual fighting scenes and king looks way different than his game design which was a bit distracting

i was surprised by how much the art stayed true to the game and yuki getting cornered by king felt intense for a first episode

It starts out like a normal fighting anime, but then the tone shifts so fast once Yuki meets the legendary fighter King

Yuki going from winning in the arena to being totally out of her element with King was a massive surprise

I thought Yuki winning those early fights looked way better than anything else I expected from this kind of show

Watching Yuki start out as a tough underground fighter and then having King change the vibe in one scene was crazy

That moment when King showed up to scout Yuki was a cool way to start things off but the shift after that was pretty wild and unexpected
