POP JUNKIE

This animated work, created by a first-year student at the Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Film and New Media, Department of Animation, plunges viewers into a world overflowing with media. The protagonist is surrounded by a cacophony of TV shows, manga, music, movies, plays, pop stars, and cartoon characters. Videos play on their phone while the TV blares and music fills the background. This constant barrage of media prompts the question: Is there another reality beyond the screen? The anime explores this media-saturated environment, inviting viewers to consider the possibilities of the "other side."
