👀 SPOILER-FREE SUMMARY

A standout early-series episode that trades the usual outdoor adventure for a claustrophobic, trap-laden mansion that keeps the tension high and the pacing sharp. Ash's Fuchsia Gym challenge introduces Koga and his sister Aya, two ninja-themed trainers whose unconventional tactics force battles away from brute strength and toward strategy and misdirection. The setting alone gives this episode a different energy—illusions, hidden passageways, and an atmosphere closer to a haunted house than a standard Gym. Comedy lands well here too, particularly through Misty's perpetually bewildered Psyduck providing perfectly timed relief. The ninja aesthetic adds genuine flavor to the battle sequences, making them visually distinct from previous Gym encounters. Expect a fun blend of suspense, action, and humor that rewards viewers looking for something beyond the formula.
