Episode Context

Sitting at episode 71 of 93, this filler arrives after the emotionally resonant 'Beyond the Rainbow!' and acts as a comedic cooldown before the season shifts into the more suspenseful 'Scary Hospitality!' next. It doesn't advance the main narrative toward the Kalos League buildup, but it offers a character-focused interlude that deepens Bonnie's role in the ensemble. For viewers tracking the season's momentum, this is a skippable but entertaining detour in the back third of XY.
