Episode Context

Sitting just past the halfway mark of XY's 93-episode run, this episode pivots attention back to Serena after 'Bonnie for the Defense!' gave Bonnie her spotlight moment. It deepens Serena's Performer identity by introducing a peer rival in Nini and exploring the teamwork fundamentals she'll need heading into the more demanding Pokémon Showcase episodes that define the back half of the season.
