Spinel taking over the Explorers as the new director is a huge shift and it feels weird that the show just skipped past his entire rise to power while Liko was away

Liko being back at the academy feels like such a step backward, especially after that scary moment where Friede and Captain Pikachu disappeared into the sky

Watching Lucius and Gibeon fade away was supposed to be the end of it but then the Six Heroes went berserk and Friede vanished and now the story feels like a different anime

I am so mad that Roy just has a Shiny Mega Lucario now when we didnt even see him catch it or get the Mega Ring during the skip since he just replaced Cap

When Brave Olivine powered up into Infinite Rising, I was genuinely cheering, that whole transformation was epic! But then, my jaw dropped watching Friede get knocked clear into the clouds, and now everyone's so separated, I'm already wondering how they'll ever regroup.

You spend all this time watching the Laquium plot get resolved and then Spinel just ruins it by making the Six Heroes go crazy right before the series jumps a year into the future

I saw Friede fall off the ship and my jaw just dropped because Cap and Charizard were with him and then the show just skipped a whole year without saying if they were okay

That cliffhanger with Friede falling overboard and the ship transforming was terrifying and it is so frustrating that they just jumped a year ahead instead of showing the immediate aftermath of the fall

The way they used the time skip to shove Mega Evolution and Legends Z-A stuff into the story feels so forced because Roy suddenly having a Shiny Lucario makes no sense at all

The team dynamic on the ship was everything to me, and now they are all separated after that one year jump. Friede sacrificed himself and we still dont know where he is or how he survived that fall. Liko is back at school and Roy is basically a different person with that Shiny Lucario and a Mega Ring now
piccolo_protector's avatar

That ending with Liko back at the academy after a whole year feels so weird because everything changed so fast and Friede is still missing and Spinel taking over the Explorers makes him way more of a threat than Gibeon ever was and the ancient belt falling in that pit made the loss of Laqua feel even more deeply permanent

My heart broke for Liko when she had to watch her only mementos of Lucius fall into that ravine while the whole world was literally falling apart

I am actually shaking because of how Captain Pikachu screamed when Friede fell and it felt so real and painful to watch

That time skip is so confusing and seeing Roy suddenly having a shiny Lucario and a mega ring out of nowhere makes no sense

Rayquaza stepping in to protect everyone while the other heroes were going crazy from those spheres was actually really cool and saved them all

Seeing Laqua get completely destroyed by the heroes was so sad after it was built up as this beautiful paradise for everyone to find

Lucius and Gibeon finally found peace and Lucius looked so happy to leave Pagogo in Liko's hands before they disappeared

Terapagos reaching that Stellar Form to purify the Laquium was a beautiful sight and it finally felt like the ancient mystery was getting a real conclusion before the chaos started

I can't believe Friede just threw Cap to Liko and disappeared while the ship was changing and then they just skipped a whole year without explaining anything

It is wild that Roy is the one partnering with Captain Pikachu now while Liko is back at the academy and Spinel is basically running the show at Exceed

EPISODE CONTEXT

Arriving directly after the monumental confrontation in Episode 88, 'The Earthshaking White Zygarde,' this episode serves as a critical narrative bridge — processing the fallout of that crisis while pivoting toward the two-part 'Eyes to the Skies Once Again' arc that follows. Liko, Roy, and the Rising Volt Tacklers are pushed into new territory here, with the episode functioning as both a culmination of recent character growth and a launchpad for the next phase of their journey. It's a connective episode that carries real weight rather than simply resetting the board.
