My patience was truly tested in that cave section, I swear it just dragged on and on! But when they finally dropped that Gibeon lore at the end, I was instantly hooked, and it totally made me forgive how slow the beginning was.

I liked seeing the Six Heroes use their moves like HMs to get everyone through the cave and it really felt like a great callback to the games

This felt like a total filler episode because they spent way too much time wandering around that cave and barely learned anything we didn't already know

Pericarp Town looks so different from the other places they've visited, and the stories from Yuha's great-great-grandmother really fleshed out why Gibeon is so obsessed with finding Laqua

Amethio finding out his grandfather knew Lucius is a massive reveal and it makes the whole rivalry with the Explorers feel way more personal now

Gibeon's lore drop from that elder has me scratching my head; how on earth did he manage to survive in that town undetected for so long? I'm honestly wondering if there's some kind of secret ability or hidden protector he had all this time that we haven't even seen yet.

The legend about the black rayquaza being a bad omen is a cool twist and it explains why the locals are so hostile toward anyone who follows it around like the rising volt tacklers do

I really hope we find out more about what Spinel is planning because his silence while Chalce does the scouting is starting to feel very suspicious

Yuha thinking he could just jump into things and then getting stuck in a cave with those territorial bugs really showed his lack of experience

Watching spinel get called out by amethio and hamber was so tense and you can really tell there is a lot of distrust building within the explorers right now

Having Black Rayquaza actually leading them to the mountain makes the whole journey to Laqua feel so much more real and close now

I was wondering when we would get more info on where the black Rayquaza went and that matriarch really delivered with the land meets the sky clue

The local legend about Rayquaza being a sign of disaster was an interesting twist on how people see legendary pokemon in different towns

Hearing the stories about the old lady's ancestor helping that mysterious man made me wonder how much more Lucius was hiding from everyone

The atmosphere when the airship had to land was great and you really get the sense that they are finally entering the endgame now that the climb toward laqua has actually started

The Explorers setting up an ambush while the kids are just hiking is making me nervous and Spinel definitely has something nasty planned for when they reach Laqua

Yuha went from being a total jerk to apologizing and wanting to train his Noibat after that cave escape and it was nice to see him stop blaming everyone for Rayquaza

Captain Pikachu knowing someone was watching him in the middle of town was so cool and it shows why you never try to sneak up on that mouse

It was a bit slow in the cave, but seeing the legendary pokemon help them out on the mountain, made the journey feel important again

I was so hyped when gouging fire and moltres showed up to clear the way because it felt like a reward for sitting through that cave detour with the vibrava and the kid

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly off the major revelations in Episode 83, 'The Truth Revealed!', this episode functions as a crucial bridge — translating newfound knowledge about the Black Rayquaza into forward momentum toward Laqua. It deepens the mythology and introduces Yuha as a key local figure before the team's anticipated arrival at Laqua in Episode 85, 'The Pokémon Paradise of Laqua!' Skipping this one would mean missing essential lore groundwork and character setup for the arc's next major beats.
