Liko and the others are finally doing stuff without Friede hovering and it was cool to watch them handle those wild Houndoom attacks on their own

Perrin and Dot bonding over the photo was a great way to use her tech skills and it really helped Dot come out of her shell while they were looking for Kleavor

That cliffhanger with Kleavor watching them from the mountain has me so ready for the battle because Liko sensing it was actually peaceful was a complete surprise

Liko and Roy and Dot splitting up and surviving on their own showed how much they have grown since the start of the series and it was cool to see them figure out the trail without help

Perrin is so cool and I really liked her interaction with Dot since it felt like Dot was finally getting out of her shell a bit more

Friede holding back those Houndoom so the kids could escape felt like a passing of the torch and it was cool to see him actually trust them to find the trail

The way Hattrem sensed a calm aura from Kleavor at the very end suggests there is a lot more to this Pokémon than just the aggressive wild ones guarding the territory, which makes the aura Hattrem sensed the most important clue for finding the truth about Lucius

I was so happy to see Perrin get more screen time today because her bond with Dot felt so genuine and her motivation as a photographer really made the search for Kleavor feel like it actually mattered

Roy finding those berries in the river was a nice bit of tracking but it makes no sense that he did not just use his bird to fly up that cliff

When Perrin opened up about her slump, I totally felt that, it made her so much more than just a quest giver. Seeing her get that spark back after watching Friede and the kids was such a great moment, it really sold me on her character and made me hope she might stick around for more adventures.

Those hostile wild Pokémon made the forest feel dangerous and it set a heavy mood before that reveal of Kleavor at the end

Perrin and Dot talking about their struggles was so good because I really relate to Dot feeling like she should have gone outside more and Perrin was such a cool mentor figure here and then seeing Terapagos catch that tiny glimpse of Kleavor right when they were giving up for the day made me yell when it finally showed up
nanami_nexus's avatar

I felt so frustrated when they walked away right before Kleavor appeared because only Terapagos noticing it made the ending feel so much more tense

Hisuian Growlithe and Perrin are such a fun addition and her talk with Dot about her photography slump was a really grounded moment during the hike through the mountains

The tension when the group got separated was handled well and Friede holding off those wild Houndoom really showed his bravery while defending the crew from that pack
kami_kaze_80's avatar
kami_kaze_80
Perrin is actually so charming and the way she realized the kids are actually capable trainers was a nice touch especially after that scary Houndoom attack split everyone up in the woods
calamity_ganon_297's avatar
calamity_ganon_297
The teamwork between Liko and Roy and Dot was great and it really shows how they handled getting split up in the forest while searching for clues and tracking marks

You have to laugh at Roy trying to climb a cliff with Crocalor instead of just using his Poké Ball, but at least the survival skills he showed in the cave were actually useful

All those slash marks on the trees made Mt Tengu feel so dangerous, but then Liko sensing Kleavor is actually calm through Hattrem adds such a weird mystery to why it attacked Perrin before
unohanas_unbeaten's avatar
unohanas_unbeaten
I was happy to see Liko use Hattrem to sense emotions and find those claw marks because it proves she is paying attention to the environment now

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly off the Crystal Pool revelations in Episode 71, where the team gained crucial knowledge about the Six Heroes, this episode narrows the focus to one specific target: Kleavor. It serves as the first half of a two-parter, laying essential groundwork for Episode 73's 'Kleavor the Solitary Warrior,' where the search reaches its climax in what promises to be a significant confrontation.
