Friede's Dark-type Terastallization to counter those Psychic attacks was such a clever move, I really thought he had it! But then, boom, he still ended up right in Spinel's trap, and it just makes me wonder how long Spinel had that planned out.

Spinel actually pulling off that hypnosis on Liko and taking the pendant was such a dark turn and it makes the Explorers feel like a real threat for once

When Liko got cornered in that alley, she looked so helpless, and I just kept wondering how she was going to get out of it. Now that Spinel has the pendant, I'm really worried about what he's planning to do with it, and it feels like this is going to be a massive headache for the whole crew.

Roy’s decision to use the fishing rod to help Wattrel practice flying, instead of just catching it, genuinely surprised me. It really shows how much he cares about his Pokémon's well-being and not just adding them to his team; that’s why I’m rooting for him so much!

It made me so happy when Roy caught Wattrel after they finally reached the top of the tower together

Spinel is a terrifying villain and using Beheeyem to wipe Liko memory like that was a genuinely dark move for this show

Friede using the Dark type Terastallization to break out of that psychic trap was such a smart play for his Charizard

Spinel’s signal jamming plan was actually really impressive; I totally didn't see him pulling off something that clever. Luring Friede into that alley was such a calculated move, and it makes me think he's a much bigger threat than just a strong Pokémon trainer – like, he's got brains and brawn.

Friede getting snagged by that EMP trap from the Magneton had me on the edge of my seat! I knew Spinel was bad news, but seeing him pull off something so clever really makes me think he's gonna be a huge headache for the Rising Volt Tacklers down the line.

Roy really went all out jumping off those rocks with Wattrel; I thought it was super brave of him to try and show his pokémon falling isn't scary. It felt like such a sweet way to connect with Wattrel and build their trust after everything.

I loved seeing Roy use Ludlow fishing trick to give Wattrel some confidence and it felt so nostalgic to see a bird capture like that

Losing the pendant while shopping is so upsetting and now Liko cannot even remember it happening

I was so happy when Wattrel flew back down to Roy instead of staying with the flock because their bond grew so much through that cliff training and the berry sharing

The little training montage with the blue berries and jumping off rocks felt like a classic pokemon bonding moment and Wattrel is a perfect addition to the team

It was so cool to see Roy using Ludlow's fishing technique to help Wattrel finally get some air. That bird was so terrified of heights, but Roy never gave up on it and the way it chose him in the end felt so earned. Plus seeing Friede have to go all out with Terastallization against Spinel's trap shows how much of a threat the Explorers actually are

That fishing rod harness idea was so clever and seeing Wattrel finally catch the wind and fly above the canyon was the most satisfying moment of the whole episode

My heart was so full when Wattrel flew back down to Roy to be caught and the way he physically jumped with it earlier showed his dedication to his new partner

I really did not see that Dark Tera Charizard coming but it was such a smart move to deal with the Beheeyem psychic lock and Friede looked so cool in that alleyway battle

Roy jumping off that rock with Fuecoco just to show Wattrel it was okay was the cutest thing ever and he really handles training just like Ash used to do

It actually made me sad seeing that little bird struggling to join the flock but Roy using Ludlows fishing logic to build a harness was such a smart move

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 14 follows the more relaxed 'An Unexpected Picnic!' and uses that breathing room to deepen Roy's characterization and expand the crew's Pokémon dynamics. It serves as a pivotal bonding episode while Friede's side investigation plants seeds of suspense that carry directly into the next episode, 'Someone We Can't See! Whosawhatsit?!'. This stretch of the season balances lighthearted growth episodes with escalating mystery, keeping the Rising Volt Tacklers' journey feeling layered.
