Episode Context

Directly following 'Gone Corphishin',' where Ash captured his new Water-type partner, this episode tackles the immediate aftermath of that catch, establishing Corphish's personality and its friction within the group. It bridges the gap between that capture and the upcoming 'A Mudkip Mission,' keeping the Hoenn adventure moving while deepening the team's roster dynamics early in the season's first quarter.
