Intensity that crushes the soul. The weight of defeat is felt in every frame. Effective usage of rapid-fire rallies and quiet. It's a sports animation masquerading as a psychological thriller. Never has the sound of a bouncing ball seemed so eerie and lonely.

this episode was rough. watching peco hit rock bottom while akuma got expelled for fighting? brutal. kong deciding to stay in japan alone hit different too. the shift in tone from the earlier episodes is real. 😔
