EPISODE REVIEWS

This one has a good balance of action, tension, emotional moments, and soundtrack. I think they blended well except for Nonoha. She was introduced as strong, athletic, gifted, and caring, but the excessive clinginess kind of stepped on those qualities. Instead of making me like her, it often makes me see her as annoying. What makes it worse is that some of her actions and dialogue feel unnecessary. Obviously, she has feelings for Kaito but her clingy behavior discouraged me from rooting for her. In fact, Ana, which has few screen times, overshadows her. I like the enigmatic soundtrack, btw.

This is truly an entertaining puzzle adventure and one that has been quite long-awaited after all those serious episodes. Cubic was more entertaining than last time, and the addition of Rook provided some levity without weighing things down too much. Good times!

The episode slows down and actually investigates someone's backstory through real detective work rather than flashback dumps, Kaito and Nonoha digging through the past to understand the present. The atmosphere in this one is unlike anything else in the season so far.
