Phantom in the Twilight

I can't help but think if they have a game version of this anime, am I wrong? I mean for me personally, I've seen a lot of otome games being made into an anime- Diabolik lovers for example, so I'm really curious now. Two episodes in and I'm really REALLY hope the female mc here is different and actually has great writing. Normally with harems and all, the mc tend to be soo basic and with female mc, they tend to cry and are very soft-spoken AND that's not a bad thing but it gets very tiring

I feel a little iffy about the art style for this anime, especially the face proportions, it's not the best but it's something I can overlook. Aside from the face proportions, the rest are actually really good. The animations are smooth and pleasing to look at. The voice acting is great, something I noticed is that the girl's voices tend to be softer? It'll be nice if they have a variety of voices tho

A super entertaining, easy-watch anime. It’s ideal if you enjoy supernatural mysteries and a "found family" dynamic with hints of subtle romance. The character designs for the guys are gorgeous (very much in the style of a romance game), though the animation during some fight scenes feels a bit stiff. The story is predictable and relies on many familiar tropes, but it executes them well, and you end up growing fond of the characters, which is what matters most.

I was expecting something to happen with Wayne, but almost nothing happened with that plot point. The reunion of all the boys is great, and I like the new design for one of them. The action in this episode is quite good, and the decision that Vlad had to make was strong, but a bit rushed. Whatever happened to Haysin feels like a good cliffhanger and setup for a second season. Good ending, nonetheless.

The stuff with Shinyao still feels really abrupt; there wasn’t much leading up to it, maybe just the fact that she was friendly with Umbras. Having each of the boys left behind as they continue their path to the final fight feels pretty fitting. It’s good to see everyone having to tackle something from their past, though the only one that felt like an afterthought was Luke. The appearance of an old character is peak. It was a fine episode.

We end up seeing that Shinyao is more important than it seems, but it feels abrupt since there wasn’t really any foreshadowing for that. There’s a lot of talking in this episode, and it’s starting to feel a bit repetitive and slow. The stuff with Shinyao is interesting, though.

This last episode was a letdown. I have so many questions about so many things that get randomly dropped without an explanation in sight. Were there too many ideas but not enough time? And that ending came completely from left field. Not watching again.

The action in this episode is what kept it alive in my opinion. There were far too many turns that made no sense, with Luke's situation being a prime example. It feels like the ending is being rushed without any proper explanation. Very confusing.

I want the say the emotional weight of this episode is exactly where it needs to be, but I can't. The boys' feelings are on display fair, but Ton's connection to them is more centered on her great grandma than her. Feels super forced. Wayne please save the day and the show.

This episode is a vast improvement from the previous. It's still lacking in key areas though. Ton's own conviction seems to get in the way of her other convictions. And how many bad guys are in this show? The plot keeps folding but Wayne is keeping us afloat.

This episode showed us that Ton has consequences for her powers, as the title suggests. Aside from that, I'd say you can skip this one. Nothing major happens until the end of it, and it’s not very major. Also, affirmations of affections already announced are abhorrent.

The level of excitement and development this episode gives was needed. But the delivery was way too quick. I now love Wayne even more, but I'm more confused about Shinyao's further importance. Random bad guys popping is in poor taste as well.

The 3rd party that just doesn't like anybody has arrived. The episode gives light to the history of conflict going but sets up a who's who of bad guys. I'm not sure how the plot can shine in this love pentagon.

I don’t like the idea of the current villain; he’s too passive, and it only involves finding a way around all the tracking and surveillance. At least Van Helsing still exists, and Wayne keeps being the most useful of them all. Still, the episode shines a bit more at the end with what happens to Chris. Great cliffhanger.

I always like the idea of power having a price, and this episode explores that badly, since there isn’t an actual answer to that idea, no resolution, and no permanent cost. And even with that in mind, it feels more like fanservice filler, since nothing much happens, and even the events that advance the plot feel a bit slow.

Okay, now Wayne is my favorite character. This episode was very eventful, with reunions, goodbyes, and a power-up.

Very emotional episode. The harsh reality of fate is performed well here. But other than establishing the shop's function, it's very plotless. Hope we don't solve everyone else's problems. The animation got a bump up, but our friend is still missing

I didn’t like the resolution or the pacing of this episode that much. They kind of ruined Van Helsing, and I thought he was going to be a bigger threat. It was a bit underwhelming, but what was actually interesting was what happened to Wayne and Ton. That was way better.

This episode further suggests a series of character episodes to come before any major plot development. But that's my theory on romcoms like this. I hope we get more of Toryu's backstory though, it felt too short.

And the real story begins. Maybe because I like werewolves I empathetic to Luke's want for peace, but he's got to decide. I do appreciate that the pace has steadied. It's still quick, but less confusing.
