Peropero Candy
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Released in 1985 as a single OVA, Peropero Candy is exactly what it sounds like — a short adult anime from the early days of Japanese ero animation. There's no deep lore, no multi-season arc, no complex cast of characters. It's a relic from a specific moment in anime history when the OVA format gave studios freedom to produce content that wouldn't fly on broadcast television, and a lot of that freedom went exactly where you'd expect. The mid-80s ero OVA scene was its own niche — rough around the edges, experimental in ways that sometimes feel charming and sometimes feel dated, and almost entirely disconnected from the polished productions anime is associated with today. If you've watched something like the early Cream Lemon series or other adult OVAs from that same era, you already have a sense of what the production values and general tone look like here. It's a time capsule more than anything else — animation historians and collectors interested in the full picture of how adult anime developed as a genre might find it worth a look. Casual viewers looking for story or craft won't find much to hold onto. One episode, vintage 1985, no known studio credit attached. It exists, it's from a specific moment, and that's mostly what defines it.
