Episode Context

Episode 1 established the antagonism between Akihito and Sae, rooted in a singles-mixer slight and culminating in the charged hotel-district encounter that closed the premiere. Episode 2 picks up directly from that moment, narrowing the entire story to their immediate dynamic and planting the foundation for the season's central romantic conflict. What this episode sets up is the first real test of whether their hostility can coexist with the attraction neither character seems prepared to acknowledge.
