Pass the Monster Meat, Milady!
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Known across high society as the "Voracious Villainess," Melphiera Marchalrayd has a reputation and a weird hobby—she's obsessed with cooking monster meat. Not in a gross way—she's genuinely trying to solve famine in her territory by figuring out how to make dangerous creatures edible. Her late mother started the research, and Melphiera's carrying the torch. The problem is, high society thinks she's a freak. They call her the "Voracious Villainess" and nobody wants to be seen with her. Then at a royal banquet meant to find her a husband, an actual monster crashes the party. Enter Aristide, the "Blood-Mad Duke," a guy whose reputation for slaughtering monsters is so intense that other nobles avoid him too. He takes one look at Melphiera—who's more interested in the monster's potential as dinner than in running away—and decides she's the one. Two outcasts with complementary skill sets: he kills the monsters, she figures out how to cook them. Their dynamic is the heart of this 12-episode TV series, and it's genuinely charming watching them bond over something everyone else finds repulsive. The romance builds naturally alongside the world-building around monster cuisine and noble politics. If you liked the "what does this creature taste like" energy of Delicious in Dungeon, or the adventurous food culture in Drifting Dragons, this hits a similar spot but leans harder into the romance. Think Restaurant to Another World's cozy food appreciation mixed with fantasy class politics and two weirdos finding each other.
