Kouya's somber past has been one of the main focal points of the series so far. However, it's with this episode that it has really come back to haunt him. Because of his past being brought up, unfortunate things started happening both to Kouya and Haruka's team. What that in mind, there's a lot of emotional weight going, even in the high-octane racing scenes. I really like the episode just because of how real and emotional a lot of the scenes are. I can only hope Kouya will have his redemption soon!

This is a dark episode for Kouya, which inevitably impacts the performance of Haruka and his racing team. The atmosphere created is quite stifling and somber. On the other hand, however, we see character growth in Haruka. He has become willing to be humble and is no longer stubborn. He also never blames Kouya for the events that befell his racing team.
