To be honest, the first few minutes of episode 1 genuinely confused me. It seemed like a different anime altogether, but apparently they're showcasing the 2.D play, which is why I got confused. After that, they focused on world-building so things finally made sense. 9/10

The episode brings a strong return, quickly re-establishing the story with a steady, confident pace. It balances tension and setup well, while hinting at deeper emotional and industry conflicts that feel worth watching.

It's very cute when Akane-chan gets mad 😍 I just love her the way she is. I think this episode will have more to do with the psychological aspect of things, and it seems quite interesting to see the minds of the main characters.

The stage play arc is finally here and the vibe is electric. Seeing the Tokyo Blade cast interact for the first time shows how much pressure is on Aqua and Akane. The way the animation shifts to reflect the manga style is a total win for fans.

The season starts off nicely without having to need to recall a lot on the previous season as the recall is only short and subtle. there is also a little character development and a slight redemption for kana in the middle of the episode as well cute moments from akane

Season 2 Episode 1 is a "must-watch" because it expands the scope of the series. It’s appealing because it isn't just about revenge; it’s an incredibly sharp critique of how art is made and the personal cost of "becoming" a character.

The Tokyo Blade cast finally coming together looked exciting until you see how much behind the scenes tension already exists. Akane's uphill battle starts immediately and you feel every bit of it.

EPISODE CONTEXT

As episode one of thirteen, "Tokyo Blade" launches the season's central arc by pivoting from season one's idol and reality TV threads into the world of stage production. It functions as a foundation episode, assembling the principal cast around a shared creative challenge and establishing the interpersonal dynamics that will drive the season's conflicts. The deliberate setup here signals a slow-burn structure, with the professional and emotional stakes set to escalate across subsequent episodes.
