Synopsis
"Ookina Furudokei" is the Japanese animated music video adaptation of the 1876 song "My Grandfather's Clock," originally composed by Henry Clay Work. Broadcast on NHK's Minna no Uta program in 1962, the song was performed by Sumito Tachikawa and the Nagato Miho Kagekidan Jidou Gasshoudan (Miho Nagato Opera Children's Choir). The animation was created with artwork by Rokurou Taniuchi. Due to copyright laws, the cost of film reels, and the practice of overwriting tapes, the original video tape of "Ookina Furudokei" is now missing, making it a piece of lost media.
