ONEGAI AIPRI HAS NO VOTE THIS WEEK
Synopsis
Fresh off her arrival in a town literally called Onegai, Konomi Inori is already on day one praying to a goddess statue in the plaza to become an AiPri, basically a magically powered idol. Most kids would have to grind through auditions and rejection arcs before anything happens, but Konomi stumbles into the real deal almost immediately. She meets Aoi Yumemiya, an already-famous AiPri, along with Fortu, a talking stuffed animal on a quest to find someone who can grant a mysterious wish. Aoi hands Konomi a magical mirror pact, and just like that, her idol journey kicks off with a mentor already in her corner. What makes this one stand out from the usual idol fare is how upfront it is about the fantasy elements. This isn't a story about grinding through vocal lessons and navigating industry politics. The mirror pact gives performances a magical girl transformation edge, and Fortu's wish-granting quest adds an actual narrative hook beyond "become the top idol." There's goddess mythology woven into the world-building, which gives the whole thing a different texture than a straight music show. If you liked Aikatsu or PriPara, this is clearly in that lineage: bright, colorful, and built around aspirational idol energy. Fans of Waccha PriMagi will especially feel at home with the magic-meets-performance formula. It's a cozy watch with enough fantasy scaffolding to keep things from feeling formulaic. The mentor-rookie dynamic between Aoi and Konomi gives it a nice emotional anchor right from the start.

Wait so are we just gonna ignore how they got carried away by a giant bird like it was nothing. This show has officially reached full PriPara chaos and I am so here for it
Olivia taking off her glasses in the sand was huge and I almost lost it when she poured her heart out to Nana
I loved seeing Aoi get so spooked by that beach fog because her reaction to the ghost rumor was hilarious and her face when Nana showed up was gold
You can really tell Nana takes her homework way too seriously when she finishes it all on day one and brings out the fancy taiyaki just to flex on everyone
Nana seeing herself in that kid crying over a 98 on his test actually made me tear up and I was so happy she decided to sing for him instead of her own ego
I thought Olivia stole the show during her solo because she finally got over her stage fright and just killed it
Olivia running away from Gumi felt so heavy because they just started being friends and seeing her break down like that was rough
I actually cried when Inori was waiting under that pink umbrella and looked so lonely but she kept smiling anyway and then the rainbow finally showed up
EXCELLENT! 🙌🙌
Two wishes at once and the team splitting up to handle both is a fun dynamic. Aoi's sister being one of the requests adds a personal layer. The 'nothing serious' situation with Satsuki feels uncomfortably real. Busy episode with a lot of heart. That cliffhanger ending though.
A sleepover episode and it delivers. Aoi pulling out a debriefing session at a slumber party is so her. Wakaba's energy coming home is infectious. Gumi's request at the end is really sweet. Cozy and warm with just enough drive to keep things moving forward.
Inori's grandpa being the mayor is such a cute detail. The festival idea coming straight from his wish is very wholesome. Things not going as planned at first feels real and relatable. This show has such a warm community spirit to it. Rooting for everyone here.
Gumi secretly training on her own while telling nobody is such a relatable thing to do. The Tomosaka family pastry shop reveal is a lovely little detail. Inori wanting to peek at what she's up to is very her. Rooting hard for Gumi to take that leap. Sweet episode.
A lost birthday sticker doesn't sound like much but this episode made it feel enormous. Gumi's story behind it is genuinely touching. Inori and Aoi searching together is really sweet to watch. The little sibling detail hit harder than expected. Lovely episode.
Inori settling into Onegai Town is really wholesome to watch. Aoi being in the same class already feels like fate. The Wish-Fulfilling Squad concept is such a cute premise. Koharu's wish at the end has me curious. This show knows exactly what kind of energy it wants.
A really charming opener. Inori wishing at the goddess statue and immediately having the universe answer is such a fun setup. The stuffed animal suddenly talking caught me completely off guard. Moko's little gift dilemma is genuinely sweet. Excited to see where this goes.
