Genos literally plugged his own core into his arm to vaporize the city destroying meteor, but Saitama just casually shatters it with a single punch. The funniest part is the city still gets absolutely wrecked by the fragments and everyone blames him.

This episode is unique because the threat is a meteor, not a monster or villain. As usual, other heroes struggle and Saitama defeats it easily. Yet the residents blame him for the destruction, even though he saved them. First half is action, the second half is kind of sad since no one sees Saitama’s effort except Genos and Silver Fang. Saitama takes the blame, making it a sad scene and a starting point for future episodes.

I love the intensity of the scenario in the first half of this episode, and I love how we see both sides of being a hero: the good and the bad. Both Saitama and Genos are such cool characters when in life-threatening situations, and I am still loving their dynamic as a duo.

A strong character-driven episode where growth and admiration become central themes.

The stakes were so high in this episode when a gigantic meteor suddenly appeared out of nowhere and was a threat to all the humans living in City-Z. We also get to see the ranking of threats and another rookie crusher aside from Sneck.

Another threat arises which forces Genos to confront his fears of failure. The episode does an excellent job in setting up the threat and fear of the ordinary people while introducing a few new characters and giving us a glimpse of the different types of heroes in this world.

This episode balances humor and action really well. The villain designs are ridiculous but still threatening enough to work.

A really solid episode! We get to see a really epic battle situation, including another cool animation scene with Genos! Will never get tired of that HAHA. And we also get to see Saitama in a more vulnerable-ish situation, which really makes the story a tad more interesting!

The feels! Standard quality animation, but the emotional confrontation hit hard. Genos worrying, Saitama being ahead of his time. A true hero's speech!

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting just past the midpoint of this 12-episode season, 'The Ultimate Disciple' escalates directly from the City Z threats established in Episode 6's 'The Terrifying City,' raising the danger level and putting Genos through his paces. It functions as a critical bridge episode, deepening the Hero Association dynamics while laying essential groundwork for the devastating Deep Sea King arc that follows. The themes of hero credibility and public trust introduced here will pay off significantly in the back half of the season.
