One Punch Man Season 2
Oshimeter
Synopsis
One punch is all it takes for Saitama to defeat literally anything. That's his whole problem. Season one established the joke: the strongest hero alive is also the most bored and underappreciated guy on the planet. This 12-episode TV series picks up right where that left off, but now there's someone who actually makes things interesting: Garou, a former martial arts prodigy who's declared war on heroes. Not monsters, not villains, but heroes. He's hunting them down one by one, and he's genuinely skilled enough to make the Hero Association sweat. Meanwhile, Saitama is still wandering around Z-City, completely oblivious to the chaos escalating around him, mostly concerned with sales at the supermarket. The comedy here works because it never winks at the camera too hard. Saitama isn't in on the joke. He's just a guy who finished the game and doesn't know what to do with himself. If you liked Mob Psycho 100's blend of absurd power with grounded character writing, this hits a similar note: same original creator, after all. And if My Hero Academia scratched your superhero itch but you want something that actively makes fun of the genre instead of celebrating it, this is the version for you. J.C.Staff took over production from Madhouse for this season, and the animation style shifts a bit, worth knowing going in. But Garou's arc alone carries the season. The dude is a genuinely compelling antagonist in a show built around the idea that antagonists don't matter.

One-Punch Man Season 2 had the difficult task of following one of the most visually impressive anime first seasons ever made. While it doesn’t fully reach the same level of animation quality, it still delivers an entertaining continuation with stronger world-building and character focus. The biggest highlight of this season is Garou. He easily becomes the most interesting part of the story. Unlike a typical villain, Garou is portrayed as someone who hates society’s idea of “heroes” and sympathizes with monsters. His fights, personality, and philosophy give the season much more depth than simply watching Saitama defeat enemies instantly. Another improvement is the expansion of the hero world. The anime spends more time developing the Hero Association and side characters, making the universe feel larger and more connected than before. However, the most common criticism is valid: the animation downgrade is noticeable. Compared to Season 1’s legendary fight choreography and fluid motion, Season 2 looks less polished and less impactful during action scenes. Some battles still look good, but the overall presentation lacks the same explosive energy. Despite that, the humor remains enjoyable. Saitama’s boredom, deadpan reactions, and accidental comedy still work well, especially when contrasted against overly serious characters around him. The pacing can also feel incomplete because the season mainly builds toward larger future conflicts rather than delivering a fully satisfying climax on its own. It feels more like setup for bigger arcs ahead.
Now has a good story but the animation its not so great although the characters its so good
Garou vs Silver Fang, Genos vs monster, and finally Saitama vs monster too! This episode is packed with fight scenes. We get to see all the strongest characters throw down, including King. The ending leaves us on a huge cliffhanger and makes you want to jump straight into Season 3!
This isn’t episode 11. It’s Garou’s fight from start to finish. There’s only a brief shift for about a minute to check in on Saitama, then it goes right back to Garou’s moment. The action scenes are delivered really well too. No yelling like Goku powering up. It’s just pure strategy and skill to survive!
Alright, a new arc begins! The monsters try to declare war on the Hero Association. The pacing starts slow at the beginning, but by the end of the episode it shifts to fast-paced as the heroes go hunting for Garou. And of course, it leaves us on a cliffhanger
Saitama’s entrance! Everyone else thinks the monster is impossible to beat, but for Saitama, it’s easy. Then the pace slows down after 10 minutes for a moment with King. This episode wraps up the monster vs. heroes arc, I guess. So the next episode should kick off a new arc to focus on!
This episode takes a brutal turn and hits us with that hopeless feeling again. A new, really strong monster shows up, and the whole episode focuses on Suiryu’s fight with it. All the emotions are mixed in here, sadness, happiness, shock, and hopelessness. But right at the end, we get a promising cliffhanger!
Class S heroes vs. monsters. Now we’re talking! The fight was super satisfying to watch, especially after the despair and hopelessness of the previous episode. This one brought the energy back. And didn’t forget Saitama vs. Suiryu either. Their fight wraps up here too. Honestly, this is one of the most satisfying episodes to watch!
The fight gets even more intense! We see Saitama in a fight, but not against a monster, while Genos battles the monster nearby. This episode gives off a really hopeless vibe because the monster is too strong and hard to handle. We also get to see different types of monsters going up against the heroes
This episode focuses on Metal Bat vs. Garou at the start. Then it turns chaotic as monsters wreak havoc around the city while Saitama in tournament. It gives us a hint that other heroes besides Saitama will step up to rescue the city in the next episode!
The action scene is intense! Metal Bat can’t one-punch the monster, so he has to land a ton of blows to take it down. As usual, Garou is hunting S-Class heroes. It then cuts to Saitama entering the tournament, before switching back to the fight. That creates a pause, but the episode ends by focusing entirely on the battle.
This episode focuses almost entirely on Garou’s fight. It gives off a realistic villain vibe and explains the logic behind him becoming a monster. As usual, Saitama never fails to deliver a funny moment with his banana. But hear me out. At the end of the episode, we finally get to watch Saitama moment! So satisfying!
At the start of the episode, we get an introduction to the new villain for this season and it’s badass! Then it shifts to Saitama vs. Fubuki. The action scene takes up almost 3/4 of the episode, including Sonic’s moment. Overall, it’s fast-paced with not much dragging
This episode reveals the true nature of King from Class S and includes a flashback. It has an action moment for King’s part, then shifts to a slower pace to focus on Fubuki and Sonic. Overall, it’s a solid start but just don’t get too hyped. The graphics also got nerfed compared to Season 1
Garou's relentless fight against multiple heroes shows just how far he's evolved. The choreography is intense and fluid. This episode proves Garou isn't just a villain, he's a force of nature. One of the best action sequences in Season 2.
Garou's relentless fight against multiple heroes shows just how far he's evolved. The choreography is intense and fluid. This episode proves Garou isn't just a villain — he's a force of nature. One of the best action sequences in Season 2. Absolute banger!
EPIC ENDING!! Wow! Garou is so likable and his backstory can resonate with a lot of people. The battle was beautifully animated and fun to watch. Saitama's entrance had me cheering. What a great ending to the season!
So much action!!! I'm glad there wasn't as much jumping around this time. Genos's new look is awesome and his entrance was so exciting. I can't wait to watch the season finale and see how everything wraps up!
Garou's in some serious stuff now. I like seeing him be protective over the kid, albeit in a gruff way. You can feel the season starting to wrap up, and I'm excited to see how it ends!
