Orochi getting beheaded was the most satisfying thing and hopefully he actually stays dead this time because he was a total snake. Kaido just does not care about their old alliance at all

I still can't believe Kaido just took Orochi's head off like it was nothing and he didn't even blink while doing it. That absolute lack of hesitation from a literal emperor was terrifying to watch

That cruel illusion of Oden was such a gut punch for Kiku, I felt my own heart drop watching Kanjuro manipulate her like that. But seeing her strike him down, even through her tears, just solidifies for me that she's finally ready to truly fight for Wano, no matter the personal cost.

Yamato and Luffy running through the castle is such a fun dynamic, and seeing her swing that mace like her father while trying to save Momonosuke is awesome

Big Mom laughing while Kaido gave that ultimatum to the samurai was creepy and it shows how much she enjoys watching people suffer under their power. They are a terrifying duo together on that stage

It was wild to see the anime give Kiku and Kanjuro a full fight because the manga skipped over it so fast, and the way they handled her grief was so well done. I am still a bit worried that Kanjuro might be faking it with his ink powers but seeing Kiku finally stand up for Oden was powerful

The sight of the Scabbards marching through the snow together after Kiku finished her fight made me feel like the real war is finally starting. They have been waiting twenty years for this one moment

Kiku putting on that mask to fight her own brother was so heavy and you can tell it was killing her inside. The snow falling during their final clash made the whole scene feel so lonely

poor zeus getting treated like that by big mom was hard to watch and nami's face just made the whole intro feel so hopeless

I honestly did not expect Kaido to just kill Orochi right there in the middle of his big speech and it was such a brutal move. The highlight for me was definitely Kiku and Kanjuro fighting in the snow because the anime really gave that moment the time it deserved. Seeing Kiku cry after winning that duel made the whole betrayal feel real.

Kiku collapsing in the snow after killing Kanjuro was a heavy moment and it shows how much that friendship meant to her and the way the other scabbards supported her was very touching

Big Mom laughing while Kaido threatened to kill every single samurai who did not join him was so dark and the power dynamic in Onigashima just shifted and it looks bad for the rebellion

The scene with the Akazaya Nine marching through the snow as the ghosts of Wano gave me chills and they have been waiting twenty years for this and you can tell they are ready for anything

Kaido just casually beheading Orochi right after Big Mom showed up gave me chills, like, how ruthless can he actually be? I honestly can't imagine what their alliance means for the world if they're already discussing ancient weapons this openly.

Kaido really just ended Orochi without a second thought and the silence in that room was terrifying and the way his head just hit the floor changed everything for the samurai who were still loyal to him

kanjuro still acting like it was all just a play even while he was dying in the snow was so twisted and messed up

Kanjuro is such a despicable villain for using Oden to taunt Kiku and his death in the snow felt like the perfect end to his twisted performance and he never even tried to apologize for the betrayal

Kanjuro using an Oden painting to mess with Kiku was so cruel and I felt so bad for her and that final strike she landed in the snow was the only way this could end

that plan to turn the whole country into a weapons factory is pure evil and seeing all those samurai surrender out of fear was just depressing

My heart actually sank when Kiku put on that mask to fight Kanjuro in the snow and I hated seeing him mock their friendship but that final strike she landed was so powerful and sad

EPISODE CONTEXT

Deep into the Wano Country arc's climactic raid on Onigashima, Episode 994 follows the escalating tensions of Episode 993 and zeroes in on one of the arc's most painful betrayals — the fracture within the Akazaya Nine caused by Kanjuro's treachery. This installment serves as a critical emotional checkpoint, forcing longtime allies to confront what they've lost before the larger battle against Kaido's forces intensifies further.
