Okiku taking off that topknot was such a cold move and seeing her actually stand up to that giant jerk was my favorite thing all week

Luffy and Zoro doing sumo wrestling without any weapons was hilarious and the way Okiku just sliced that topknot off out of nowhere was such a huge power move for her

Zoro refusing to fight a naked man is such a weirdly specific rule for him but it made the anime original sumo stuff way more entertaining than normal filler

I am so done with the pacing because that entire entrance took forever and barely anything from the manga actually happened but seeing Luffy use his conquerors haki was pretty cool

Luffy used his conquerors haki right at the start and it looked so good with those wano effects plus seeing him just casually walk through those guys was great

The Wano soundtrack during the sumo scenes was awesome, and I actually found myself laughing at that announcer guy. It was a bit jarring how the pacing felt so drawn out with those extra scenes at the end, but then Luffy just busts out his Haki and leaps right into the ring? I was on the edge of my seat, wondering if he'd ever *not* rush headfirst into a fight!

I loved seeing Okiku finally drop the act and slice that hair off because Urashima was being a total creep and he deserved to lose his pride like that

The second half felt way too slow and some of those filler scenes looked a bit jittery compared to the awesome haki sequence we got earlier

The animation for Zoro trying to sumo wrestle was surprisingly fluid, even if the joke about him not wanting to cut a naked man felt a bit dragged out by the extra dialogue.

Okay, my jaw seriously dropped when Luffy pulled that reverse kawada driving move, I mean, only he'd think of something so wild in a sumo match. It's just so him to completely flip expectations and make me laugh my head off while doing it.

It makes me so angry seeing what they are doing to poor Otama and her devil fruit powers while everyone else is just having a sumo match in the town

Urashima is such a loud and annoying villain and his constant chasing of Okiku made that whole segment feel like it was dragging on forever

Zoro refusing to cut a naked guy is hilarious and it shows how weirdly specific his honor code is even when he is just beating people up with his bare hands

Zoro fighting without his swords was a nice change of pace, although the joke about him not wanting to slice a naked man went on for a little too long.

Urashima is such a jerk so watching Kiku stand up for herself was the highlight of the week and her sword skills are way sharper than I expected for a waitress

Okay, but Luffy just completely owned Urashima in that sumo match, and I was so hyped watching those hits land! I swear I felt the impact of every single one of his punches, it was such a satisfying takedown.

I honestly enjoyed the energy that the sumo announcer brought to the arena because he reminded me so much of the tournament announcers from older shows. It was a nice touch that helped me get through some of the slower filler scenes with Urashima and those random wrestlers, which really dragged the first half of the episode down for me

The Wano soundtrack is doing a lot of heavy lifting during the sumo scenes and it makes the atmosphere feel much more authentic

Zoro using sumo moves instead of his swords for once was weirdly cool and I liked how he just tossed those guys around like they were nothing

Kiku cutting that topknot was a huge insult to a sumo wrestler and it was the perfect way to shut Urashima up after he was being so pushy

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode directly follows Luffy and his crew's infiltration of Bakura Town to rescue Tama, escalating the stakes by introducing Urashima as a new obstacle standing in their path. It's an early chapter in the sprawling Wano Country arc, focused on establishing the power dynamics and adversaries the Straw Hats will face. The confrontations here lay critical groundwork for the larger battles and alliances that define Wano's long-term narrative trajectory.
