Ugh, I was so bummed when they pulled us out of Wano for a filler arc, but then Boa Hancock just shows up out of nowhere! Her immediately jumping in to help Luffy fight those carbonation guys made me so happy; it's classic Hancock simping and so energetic to watch. I just love how she's always ready to throw down for him, no questions asked.

Those carbonic acid cannons looked surprisingly dangerous and seeing the Cidre Guild use soda as a weapon was a creative touch even if the plot felt a bit forced for a movie promotion

The carbonation powers were such a weird choice but they actually looked pretty cool and you have to admit the Wano art style makes even a filler episode like this look great

The animation quality stayed really high even for a side story and the new line filters made the action scenes with Luffy and the bounty hunters look sharp and polished

It is so funny how the Sunny runs out of cola and then they find an entire island based on soda and carbonated weapons while Luffy just crashes Hancocks bath like it is nothing

I usually skip filler but the movie tie-in actually had some decent moments and I was surprised by how much I liked the weird soda powers the Cidre Guild was using. Seeing Hancock again made up for the random detour, even if the bath scene was typical Luffy being clueless and it really got me excited to see the movie soon

Hancock being back was the only thing that saved this episode, because stopping the Wano arc right as it was getting good felt like a huge mistake for a movie tie-in

I forgot how much I missed Hancock and her sisters so seeing her pop up in the middle of this random bounty hunter plot was a nice surprise after the Wano break

The ending where they name drop Buena Festa and Douglas Bullet is the only reason to watch this if you are planning to see Stampede

If you are only here for the main story you can probably skip this, though the way Luffy just stumbles into trouble while searching for soda is classic

My biggest takeaway was how good the animation stayed for a filler episode and the fight on the ship had some really smooth movements compared to typical side stories

The guy using soda as a weapon is kind of a weird choice and he looks like a generic bounty hunter but seeing the Sunny zoom away from those carbonated ships was actually cool

You can tell this is just a giant ad for Stampede since they keep mentioning the pirate festival and name dropping Douglas Bullet but seeing Luffy and Hancock team up again almost makes the interruption worth it

Boa Hancock’s return was such a highlight for me! I just knew she'd still lose her mind every time Luffy was around, but it’s always hilarious to see her try to keep up appearances despite being so completely smitten.

Some of the smears and action shots during the chase looked decent enough even if the plot about carbonated water is kind of silly and boring

It is basically a long commercial for the new movie, but having Hancock back for the comedic bath scene was a nice surprise after she was gone for so long

I am so annoyed that we have to wait for more Wano just to see this filler arc that nobody asked for

The animation style still looks pretty sharp since they are using the new Wano designs, but the actual story with the bounty hunter guild is just filler fluff to get people excited for the Stampede movie. It works well as a prequel for anyone wanting to see why they are heading to the festival, and it even mentions Douglas Bullet too.

I found the whole Cidre fight pretty forgettable and he does not seem like a threat at all compared to the guys we just saw in Wano

Wano just started and we already hit a filler wall for a movie promo but at least the art style looks better than the old filler episodes did

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 895 is a confirmed filler that steps away from the Wano Country arc buildup to serve as a promotional tie-in for the 'One Piece: Stampede' movie. The episodes surrounding it continue the transition into one of the series' most anticipated long-form arcs, meaning this side story offers a brief breather before the main narrative resumes. Skipping this episode has zero impact on continuity or arc comprehension.
