Episode Context

This episode is the second and final part of Big Mom's backstory, directly continuing the flashback begun in Episode 836 that revealed young Linlin's time with Mother Carmel on Elbaf. The revelations here serve as critical emotional and thematic foundation for the Whole Cake Island arc's climactic confrontations, as Episode 838 returns to the present-day crisis armed with the context of what truly drives Big Mom's rage and obsession.
