I really love this episode. Kindness begets kindness. That said, I really respect Luffy’s resolve. What willpower! On a funny note, how Vivi drags Usopp by the nose, and how Zoro recognizes him by it, is comedy gold.

Wapol is such a loser and most of this episode was just him being annoying while everyone else ran away from the snow and the pacing only got better when they reached the castle

Those giant rabbits fighting Wapol to pay back Luffy was a great twist, and they actually held their own against those jerks

Zoro jumping out of a frozen lake completely shirtless just to go find his coat was the funniest thing and then he just destroyed those soldiers without even trying

I couldn't look away when Luffy had to grip Sanji with his teeth just to keep going and his fingers were leaving blood all over the ice while he climbed that massive mountain

My stomach actually turned seeing Luffy's fingernails getting ripped up on those rocks and he still wouldn't let go of his friends no matter how much it hurt

Luffy climbing that vertical wall with his bare hands and teeth while his fingers were literally bleeding out was so hard to watch and he really is the best captain for doing that

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting firmly in the Drum Island arc, this episode follows the escalation of Wapol's return and Dalton's stand against his forces, shifting focus back to the Straw Hats' desperate climb toward medical help for Nami. The mountain ascent serves as a critical bridge between the crew's arrival on the island and the introduction of key new characters waiting at the summit. It builds the emotional and physical stakes necessary for the revelations and alliances that the arc is building toward.
