The memories of the Baratie made the whole situation feel so much worse because we know Sanji is only doing this to keep Zeff safe from the Vinsmokes and Big Mom, and it reminds me a lot of when Usopp fought Luffy back in Water Seven because this feels even more tragic since Sanji is lying to his own heart
