The way Scarlett died without knowing she was being held by her own husband is the most depressing thing this show has done since we got to Dressrosa

I felt so sick when Kyros was holding his dying wife but because he was a toy he could not even cry or feel her warmth and she did not even know who he was

That moment Kyros severed his own leg for the king, then to have the universe just spit on him by turning him into a toy and erasing him from his family's memory as his wife died in his powerless arms, genuinely made my chest tighten with a grief that felt personal. I honestly can't fathom how anyone could endure such a cruel twist of fate after finally finding a fleeting scrap of happiness with Scarlett and Rebecca; it just feels so profoundly unfair.

You think it is a happy ending when they fake the princess's death to be together but then Doflamingo ruins everything and makes everyone forget Kyros ever existed

Just when Kyros was about to deliver that blow, Sugar pulled the dirtiest trick, turning him into a toy! I got so frustrated for him right then, especially knowing that nobody in the whole place would even remember who he was. It’s such a tragic irony after everything he’d been through.

Kyros going from a kid with a nail bat to a legendary gladiator made the ending of this episode hurt way more than it should have

I can see why people compare Kyros to Guts because that man has been through a literal hell his entire life and it just keeps getting worse for him

I genuinely didn't expect Kyros to go so far as to sever his own leg just for a chance to strike Doflamingo; that kind of resolve surprised me so much. But then Doffy just immediately turns him into a toy, effectively erasing all his painful sacrifices—it just made me realize how truly monstrous that guy is and how little chance anyone has against him sometimes.

It was so sweet seeing Scarlett be the one to chase Kyros first, but that just made the scene where he has to watch her die as a toy even harder to stomach.

I wasn't expecting this episode to be so focused on the tragedy, but seeing Kyros go from a teen murderer to a family man was something else. Watching him live in that little hut with Scarlett and baby Rebecca made the toy soldier reveal hurt a lot more. The animation looked way cleaner than usual, and it made the flashback scenes stand out.

Watching Kyros struggle with his own guilt even after becoming a hero is a lot to take in, especially since he never felt worthy of his own family in the end

The transition from Kyros having a happy family to Doflamingo ruining everything was brutal and seeing the kingdom fall apart like that was really hard to watch

Kyros at fifteen years old was a total beast in the coliseum and it is crazy how much he changed for his family

Kyros having that street fighter mentality at the start was cool and King Riku actually looks like a decent guy for once

My jaw dropped when that toy soldier finally revealed himself as the legendary Kyros! It's wild to think back to all his little actions and realize I totally missed the clues, but now every single thing he did makes so much more sense.

The animation quality during the coliseum fights looked way better than the previous episodes. Watching Kyros take down those giants and warriors looked really smooth for once

I really felt for Kyros when he refused to touch his baby daughter because he thought his hands were too dirty and his past was honestly so heavy

I felt so bad when Kyros wouldn't touch his baby daughter because he thought his hands were too filthy from his past. That part really got me

Toei really spent the money on this episode because the colors and the movement during the flashback scenes were really polished and so smooth

The people of Dressrosa turned on King Riku so fast, and it is actually kind of frustrating to watch them fall for those lies

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off episodes focused on the escalating factional conflicts across Dressrosa, episode 675 pivots to essential backstory that recontextualizes the power dynamics between Kyros, King Riku, and the forces currently tearing the kingdom apart. This flashback episode serves as the emotional backbone of the Dressrosa arc, grounding the high-stakes action in deeply personal history. Understanding these connections is critical setup for the confrontations and revelations that follow.
