Episode Context

Episode 629 serves as a critical bridge between the Punk Hazard Arc and the Dressrosa Arc, shifting focus from the immediate dangers of Caesar Clown's island to the far more dangerous game involving Donquixote Doflamingo. It builds directly on the Straw Hat-Law alliance formed during Punk Hazard and channels that momentum into a new trajectory. Everything introduced here, the power dynamics, Doflamingo's influence, the alliance's strategy, lays essential groundwork for one of One Piece's most expansive arcs.
