EPISODE REVIEWS

Hordy is basically just a more extreme version of Arlong, and I think that makes him a terrifying villain for this arc. Seeing him break into the palace like that was intense.

Episode Context

Episode 535 follows the palace upheaval of Episode 534, where Princess Shirahoshi's kidnapping destabilized the Ryugu Kingdom, and pivots the Fish-Man Island arc from political intrigue into direct military conflict led by Hordy Jones. This episode serves as the critical bridge into Episode 536's anticipated Zoro vs. Hordy Jones showdown, making it essential setup for the arc's combat-heavy second half. The Straw Hats' alliances and motivations crystallize here, positioning this as the point of no return for the Fish-Man Island storyline.
