This episode was still setting up the arc, but the story progressed smoothly. It had some epic moments that made it even better.

This episode was SO iconic! There wasn’t even a big fight, but that Zoro scene was unforgettable. The pacing and ambiance were great—nothing flashy, but definitely significant.

That Zoro moment was so GOATed. That was such a badass scene. I liked the overall vibe, highlighting his character while also building toward something bigger.

Focuses on growth through tools and choice, adding depth to combat identity. Subtle but meaningful progression.

zoro testing his luck with the cursed sword kitetsu is one of the most badass early one piece moments, showing his resolve and connection to swordsmanship in a genuinely memorable scene - the loguetown arc in general hits different knowing its the last stop before the grand line and this ep captures that pre-adventure energy well

We're having a fresh and new intro . Oho! The sword chooses the owner, which is Zoro. So, if you decided to skip, you won't know about Zoro's Sword. Meanwhile, Luffy being goofy as always. Sleeping anywhere no matter the situation.

Goosebumps! What a cool play. How Zoro pits his luck against that cursed sword made my heart throb. That aside, I love the comedic scenes—how Nami just sighs in disappointment, and how Luffy and Buggy cross paths. Really fun.

zoro throwing that sword in the air to test the curse was so tough he really just bet his whole arm on a hunch and the way it spun around him without a scratch was terrifying to watch

buggys disguise with the fake nose was so obvious and luffy still fell for it and asked him for directions to his own execution which is just classic luffy

tashigi getting so excited about the sword history was actually pretty cute until she started talking about taking them away from pirates like she was staring right through zoros secret

Smoker is a terrifying opponent for Luffy since physical attacks just go through him, and that Jitte he carries seems like a major problem for any devil fruit user.

i was so stressed when that cursed kitetsu blade was spinning in the air but zoro did not even flinch while waiting for it to cut him or miss and it really showed that his spirit is way stronger than some old curse and then getting yubashiri for free on top of that was the best reward for his bravery

i couldn't stop laughing when zoro was stuck mopping the floor at the marine base while nami just walked away and let him suffer through the manual labor

that moment in the bar where the old man talked about gold roger was so quiet and heavy and luffy looked so serious listening to those stories for once

luffy standing on the same spot where gold roger died felt like such a huge moment because he has no fear at all even with the marines surrounding the base of the platform

It is honestly wild that Tashigi looks identical to Kuina, and Zoro looked like he saw a ghost the second she looked up at him.

zoro gambling his entire arm just to see if he was worth the cursed sword was the coolest thing he has done so far and the shopkeeper was right to give him the blades

The tension when that Kitetsu blade was spinning in the air was crazy. Zoro really has iron nerves and that shopkeeper recognized his talent immediately

Zoro using three mops to clean the floor like he is practicing his sword style was hilarious. Nami just laughing and walking away instead of helping him is classic

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode takes place during the Loguetown arc, the final stop before the Straw Hats make their fateful push toward the Grand Line. Following the crew's arrival in Loguetown in the preceding episode, this installment splits focus to Zoro's personal preparations, equipping him — both literally and thematically — for the far greater challenges ahead. It serves as essential character groundwork before the arc's climax and the crew's departure into uncharted waters.
