EPISODE REVIEWS

Bon Clay deserves to be a straw hat after this because nobody else would go this hard for a friend they just met a few weeks ago

Episode Context

This episode follows directly from Luffy's crushing defeat at the hands of Magellan, leaving him incapacitated and shifting the narrative burden onto Bon Clay's shoulders. It serves as a critical emotional bridge within the Impel Down arc, deepening the stakes before the story opens up to Level 5.5 and the introduction of key new allies. The groundwork laid here, themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and unlikely friendships, fuels the momentum for the arc's explosive back half.
