Brook singing alone at the very end after everyone else fell over actually destroyed me and the way the song just keeps going while he is all by himself is too much to handle
When their voices started dropping out one by one while the Rumbar Pirates tried to sing through the poison, I genuinely felt a chill go through me. It's so tragically beautiful that they wanted their final recording to be happy, even if it cost them their lives, and thinking about Brook being left alone just crushes me.
The English dub version of the song really caught me off guard because I usually stick to the original, but they did such a great job with the lyrics and the emotion and seeing Brook wake up from dreams where his crew is still alive only to find his own skeletal hands is the saddest thing I have ever seen in this show
