Hogback ominously declares a 'night raid' is about to begin, promising the island's guests no escape. Outside, Absalom and Perona command hordes of grotesque zombies, preparing for a hunt. Moria's monstrous shadow appears, proclaiming Thriller Bark a 'demon's domain.' The eerie mansion, shrouded in fog, becomes a character in itself, drawing the unsuspecting deeper into its maw.

Nami confronts Hogback, accusing him of reanimating the dead. She produces a death certificate for Victoria Cindry, revealing the doll-like woman to be a zombie. This exposes the true, horrific nature of Hogback's work. He then calls forth Ryuuma, the Samurai Zombie, whose bandaged form emerges from the shadows, a formidable new threat.

Ryuuma, the Samurai Zombie, makes a crude request of Nami, a moment of dark comedy. His exact phrasing, however, triggers a chilling realization in Nami. She recognizes the bizarre phrase, 'I have no eyes for beautiful women because I am a skeleton... May I see your panties?' as belonging to Brook. The samurai, a powerful General Zombie from Wano, wields a katana with deadly precision, effortlessly defeating Nami, Usopp, and Chopper, who are left bleeding and helpless as Hogback gloats.

Meanwhile, Luffy's group forces their way into the mansion, Luffy casually punching through a locked door. Inside, they find a chaotic, ornate hall filled with bizarre, unsettling portraits. These paintings, animated by shadows, spring to life alongside a giant polar bear zombie, Kumashi. The Straw Hats fight back, with Luffy's 'Gum-Gum Pistol' and Franky's 'Radical Beam' dispatching their initial assailants. They resolve to find their missing friends.

As Luffy's group battles, Nami, Usopp, and Chopper are dragged, unconscious, into coffins by Hogback, Cindry, and Ryuuma. They are prepared to be new additions to Moria's zombie army. This massive, horned creature bursts through a wall, his sheer size and power overwhelming. Luffy, even in 'Gear Second,' and the rest of the crew find their powerful attacks barely fazing Oars. They are quickly overwhelmed, their efforts proving futile against such an immense force.

From within Oars, Gecko Moria, a Warlord of the Sea, reveals himself as the true mastermind. He gloats about his plan to use Oars's body combined with Luffy's shadow to become the Pirate King. Moria easily defeats Luffy, stealing his shadow and imbuing it into Oars. The giant zombie then adopts Luffy's signature fighting style, a chilling mimicry of their captain's power now turned against them.

With Luffy's shadow, Oars becomes unstoppable. He brutally defeats the remaining Straw Hats, Zoro, Robin, and Franky, one by one.
