Episode Context

Episode 128 lands squarely in the aftermath of the Alabasta saga's climactic battles, functioning as the emotional cooldown before the crew's inevitable departure. The brutal confrontations with Crocodile and Baroque Works are behind them, and this episode capitalizes on that relief by celebrating the bonds between the Straw Hats and the people of Alabasta, particularly Vivi. It directly sets up the crew's escape from the kingdom, a sequence that will carry significant emotional weight for the arc's resolution.
