Sa wakas, the long awaited arc is here! Napaka nostalgic ng vibe specially kay Luffy and Usopp's side, alam nman natin kung gaano ka excited sila. Pacing's wise, One Piece as usual, they tend to slow it down, a lot is going on, from one emperor to another but it's great. Graphics and animation is more polished, 8/10 for now. Excited on what coming next! Let's go Elbaph!

Good, it's back on track! This arc starts with its smooth and balanced animation quality, without laggy CGI. Flashback with Merry was nostalgic, holding Luffy and Usopp's goal from the past. Bartolomeo's scene was emotionally heartfelt and his loyalty to Luffy was respectable. Blackbeard's animation was fluid and his VA was as menacing as ever. A bit incomplete without the ED visuals and that post-ending credit was a cliffhanger!

This episode functions as a calm, strategic arc opener. The pacing is deliberately slow, offering a breather after the chaos of the Egghead arc. Overall, it's a foundational episode, setting the tone, reintroducing the crew and welcoming us into a new adventure.

The episode builds toward major developments as the Yonko begin moving into action and Elbaph approaches under the Drums of Liberation. However, the post-banquet twist shifts the tone in a surprising direction.

One Piece is finally back! The anime enters the Elbaph Arc with a literal 'big' reunion banquet on the giants' ship. We also get to see some old friends and foes again. All in all a very well-rounded episode with great animation and some intriguing cliffhangers. To be continued!

I didn’t expect there would still be unpredictable characters. Combined with One Piece’s heavy lore and world-building, it made everything even more intriguing as the story unfolded after Egghead.

The first thing I noticed was the eyecatchers—lol, they brought back the wanted poster style! I love this episode, though, despite it being a bit slow-paced. It’s such a great and exciting way to start the arc.

Honestly, when Blackbeard popped up and they dropped the bomb about Garp being captured, my heart sank. You just know this is gonna set Luffy off in a huge way, and I'm already hyped for the chaos that's about to unfold. The stakes just got so much higher, it's insane.

The Elbaf banquet scene was pure chaos and exactly what I needed this week Usopp’s dreams are coming true

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode arrives immediately after the Egghead Island arc reaches its conclusion, functioning as a tonal reset and transitional bridge before the Elbaph arc begins in earnest. The reunion between the Straw Hats and the Giant Warrior Pirates carries significant emotional weight for long-running fans, paying off threads established as far back as the Little Garden arc. Episode 1156 sets the stage for Elbaph — one of the most anticipated locations in the entire series — making it essential viewing for context even if its immediate stakes are low.
