This episode showed that Luffy now has unlimited power. Eiichiro Oda made a masterful decision. The anime creators did an excellent job. We've seen this kind of character development in other shounen series too. But none of them were this impressive. And the sounds are incredible

I'm a One Piece fan since college, and seeing Gear 5 animated feels like the series peak! The Looney tunes style perfectly captures Luffy's Devil fruit with all of the chaos and freedom. Even with all of the flashbacks, Episode 1071 is clean and uniquely unforgettable for me.

Absolute Cinema!! A legendary episode for the fans who've been waiting for the Gear 5 Debut. We finally get to see Luffy's awakened form. And it was AMAZING, Although the pacing seems stretched and flashbacks take literally half of the episode. But it's still great! 8.5/10
