Sanji getting caught in that spider web is so frustrating to watch, but Black Maria looks absolutely terrifying in her hybrid form.

You can tell Ace was so proud talking about his little brother and seeing Yamato get all excited about Luffy before they even met was the best part of the flashback

Episode Context

Coming directly after Episode 1012's battlefield developments with Marco countering Queen's virus, Episode 1013 deliberately shifts gears to provide crucial backstory for Yamato, one of the Wano arc's most pivotal new characters. Her history with Ace and her personal defiance against Kaido add essential emotional stakes to the ongoing Onigashima conflict. This flashback episode serves as both a breather from the raid's intensity and a narrative foundation for Yamato's upcoming role in the battles ahead.
