Episode Context

Sitting at the midpoint approach of a 21-episode saga, this episode transitions from the Straw Hats' initial Fish-Man Island arrival and separation into the deeper political and personal stakes of the kingdom's royal family. Previous episodes established the island's tensions and scattered the crew; now the narrative narrows its focus to set up the central conflicts and alliances that will drive the arc's back half.
