Episode Context

Sitting early in the Fish-Man Island Saga at episode 3 of 21, this follows the Straw Hats' emotional reunion and precedes their descent to Fish-Man Island, functioning as the final preparation phase before the crew faces new threats beneath the sea. The episode deepens post-timeskip character development and resolves lingering questions about the two-year gap, particularly around the Sunny's fate. It establishes emotional stakes and crew cohesion that will be tested once the underwater arc kicks into full gear.
