Episode Context

Sitting at the midpoint of this 21-episode saga, this installment pivots sharply from the previous episode's action, Hody Jones and Vander Decken IX's assault on Ryugu Palace, into critical backstory that explains why the conflict exists at all. Jinbe's confession serves as the foundation for the upcoming deep dives into Queen Otohime and Fisher Tiger's stories, which will dominate the next stretch of episodes. Without this pivot, the saga's climactic battles would lack their full emotional resonance.
