Synopsis
At a high school reunion, Mio Fukatani runs into her old crush, which would be exciting on its own, except Takahide Kujou is now a monk. As in, vows, robes, the whole deal. She writes off any romantic possibility immediately, drinks her feelings, and somehow ends up being walked home by him anyway. What happens next makes it very clear that monastic life has not extinguished everything in Takahide. This is a short-episode ONA: 12 episodes, each running only a few minutes, so it moves fast and does not waste time on slow burns. The setup leans into that classic forbidden tension: a man who is supposed to have renounced worldly desire, a woman who assumed she never had a chance with him, and one night that complicates both of their lives. It is josei-coded, meaning the emotional framing actually matters here, not just the physical stuff. If you liked the charged, complicated dynamics in Koikimo or the forbidden-relationship energy in A Predator in a Skirt, this hits a similar nerve. It also comes in multiple versions depending on how far you want to go with the adult content, which is a practical thing worth knowing before you start. Do not go in expecting a slow romantic drama with a lot of dialogue. This is upfront about what it is. But if forbidden romance with genuine emotional underpinning is your thing, it delivers exactly what it promises.
